The reporter learned from China Railway Construction Corporation that on the 17th, the Huayingshan Tunnel, a key and difficult control project for the entire Xiyu High Speed Railway (Xi'an Chongqing) line, undertaken by China Railway 15th Bureau Group, officially began construction.
According to Li Xiangfeng, the construction manager of the project at China Railway 15th Bureau Group, the Huayingshan Tunnel has a total length of 12.15 kilometers and is a first-class high-risk tunnel in the Kangyu section of the West Chongqing high-speed railway. It has complex geological features such as karst rich water, coal seam goaf, and large deformation of soft rock, making construction difficult and high-risk.
The Xiyu high-speed railway has a total length of 739 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an important component of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, including the Beijing Kunming Expressway from Beijing to Kunming and the Baotou (Yinchuan) Haikou Expressway from Baotou and Yinchuan. After the completion of the project, it will be connected to multiple lines such as the Chengdu Chongqing high-speed railway and the Zhengzhou Chongqing high-speed railway that have already been built and operated, promoting the further improvement of the road network structure in the central and western regions.
